Here's a music video of the first song I've been able to record so far to give you a taste of what I'm shooting for.

Breathing life with music

Why am I doing this, you might ask? Obviously music has been a big part of my life and was even my job for a while when I worked for the church as a music pastor for 10+ years. I went through a pretty dry spell, musically, a number of years ago, but then I stumbled into learning some cover tunes of my favourite bands (Rush and Dave Matthews Band) which REALLY challenged me and was super fun at the same time, breathing life into my guitar playing and singing. This also seemed to jumpstart my songwriting and while I've enjoyed playing my own stuff to some extent in the past, I'm REALLY enjoying playing my current stuff, more than I ever have.

Another big part of this is wanting to do what I can to promote love, grace, and goodness in our world in these challenging days. My hope is that a quality album with a positive message will really encourage those who listen to it, but will also help get me in to new places to play and help "spread the love" :). (Speaking of love, some of you know me as the guy who helped make "Love Abbotsford/Love Your City" happen in the early 2000s. Well, I actually still have dreams and ideas for doing something similar but different in some shape or form in the future too. We'll see!)

Most of you have probably seen Kickstarter campaigns, but the service charges can be up to 10% and the frugal Mennonite in me can't handle that, so I'm hoping to get this done without them :). But like with Kickstarter, there are perks!

For any amount you'll immediately receive the single "Solitaire" mp3 download, and later you'll receive a code for a deal (possibly free??) for the recording release event that will be planned for sometime in the fall.

Also let me know if you give an amount but don't want that particular perk or would like to swap it for something else. We can negotiate! :)
